Rukia feels she has gotten too attached to the human realm and has decided to run away from it all. While fleeing, she runs into her fellow Shinigami, Renji Abarai and the leader of the Kuchiki family, Byakuya Kuchiki. Their orders are to kill the person who has Rukia's death god- powers and to take Rukia back to Soul Society to be executed. Uryuu Ishida just happens to show up to the site of confrontation.
